Sheraton Baltimore City Center Hotel is proud to be an official sponsor of the Ed Block Courage Award Foundation. Dedicated to raising awareness and prevention of child abuse, The Ed Block Courage Award Foundation seeks to improve the lives of abused, neglected and at-risk children and end the cycle of abuse. The Ed Block Courage Awards annually recognizes National Football League players who embody sportsmanship and courage, and have been identified as a team player in helping abused children and families in crisis. Each fall, all NFL teams conduct a vote to select their Ed Block Courage Award recipient for the year. The Courage Award has become one of the most esteemed honors bestowed upon a player in the NFL, especially since the recipient is selected solely by his peers. Recipients exude professionalism, great strength, and serve as a community role model. With this honor, they become a major component of the Courage House National Support Network for Kids and serve as an Ambassador of Courage for victims of abuse, violence and neglect. The 2013 Ed Block Courage Awards Gala will take place at Martin’s West on March 18, 2013. |
